A few updates from 1st grade world:
In lieu of a typical holiday party, all of 1st grade will be doing a Polar Express day next Friday. No supplies or volunteers are needed for this! Kids will watch the movie, drink hot chocolate, eat Christmas cookies, and do holiday math, reading, and writing tasks throughout the day. Kids are also allowed to wear pajamas on this day and bring either a pillow OR a small stuffed animal.
Today in Thursday folders, in addition to the usual types of assessments, you'll see a packet with scores for a Superkids Midyear Assessment. This midyear test is a great gauge to see your kiddo's progress since the beginning of 1st grade. The cover page lists the sub-tests and their respective scores. Next week Brantner is doing another spirit week. Here are the details:
- Tuesday: flannel day
- Wednesday: crazy hair/holiday style/hat day
- Thursday: ugly holiday sweater day
- Friday: pajama day (Polar Express Day)
